Edition #17 dispatched today

Hope this finds you well and enjoying the Spring weather, very lovely here today!

Max Caffell completed my first Platinum print last weekend, and I've just finished editioning it, packing it, and dispatching it today. So all being well, if you’re a club member, you should receive it in the next few days.

I hope you love it when you see it! It's quite small, which I see as a good thing, a poem really, in part because of the insanely high cost of the process. I'd like to think it might be the first time someone has produced a Platinum print from a digital drawing, but there's no easy way to know that, so it'll remain an untested proposition.

Irrespective of that, I like the way the edition arcs back through time to utilise one of the earliest methods we had for chemically fixing a light based image permanently to paper, the process seems to add a rather lovely warmth and analogue feel to the work, without becoming too retro.

I'm away in Cornwall for a week starting on Sunday, so I'll put together a longer post with images on my return, with a little more about the process, and perhaps further context too.

..

Also of note, and I'm about to mention this in a separate email shortly, I've completed and quietly launched my new website - v5 - which now more fully incorporates the Print Club on various pages. You can view all the editions to date here -

There's also the beginnings of a new Print Club blog, although I still need to move the Patreon print club blog posts across to the site in due course - the new blog is online here -

..

Really looking forward to getting back to actually making new work this Spring! The new site has taken far too much time but hopefully will provide a good carapace for the project for many years to come.

The next piece(s) I'm going to work on are tentatively titled Xgen, and will involve laser cut geometries based around an X shape. I think it'll be good.

If that goes well, I'm expecting to produce a bumper Summer double edition around the Solstice, I'll send some work in progress images as we go.

Thanks as ever for being a member - best - Chuck
